If you are managing the health of another, you can apply for proxy access. This provides access to the person's online account for:
- book and view appointments
- order medication
- access to medical records
Contact the surgery to request proxy access.
Proxy Access for Children Aged 13 and Over
Proxy access for children is automatically reviewed when a child reaches the age of 13, in line with NHS confidentiality and safeguarding guidance.
At this age, young people are generally considered able to make decisions about their own health information. As a result, parental proxy access may be removed.
If continued access is required, the young person will need to give their consent (if assessed as competent), or the practice will assess and document the appropriate arrangements.
If you have any questions about proxy access, please contact reception for advice.
Proxy access on behalf of another adult
A person must be registered for online access at the practice where the patient they are acting for is registered. Proxy is the recommended alternative to sharing login details.
