Nurses
Our nurses and nurse practitioners are very experienced, highly-trained professionals who work closely with the GPs. Their duties cover acute and chronic care in the surgery and at home.
They can deal with many problems that were traditionally dealt with by GPs. This frees up appointments with the doctors. Some are nurse prescribers who can prescribe any appropriate medication. Therefore they can deal with many common acute problems such as infections, pains and injuries. If the nurse feels a problem requires a doctor’s input then this can be arranged promptly.
Our nurses also monitor chronic illness such as diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension (high blood pressure), depression and heart failure. They can perform medication reviews, and offer an excellent stop smoking service.
