Our nurses are very experienced, highly-trained professionals who work very closely with the GPs. Their duties cover acute and chronic care in the surgery and at home. They will also monitor chronic illness such as diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension (high blood pressure), depression and heart failure. We also have nurse prescribers who can prescribe any appropriate medication. It is not always necessary to see the GP, and on many occasions the nurse is very much able to help.
